Today, the Morino Institute (MI) and the National Council of Nonprofits (NCN) jointly announced that the Leap of Reason Ambassadors Community (Leap Ambassadors Community or LAC) will become a part of NCN.
Started more than a decade ago, the Leap Ambassadors Community promotes greater social impact in the form of more high-performing organizations with the ability to deliver equitable, meaningful, measurable, and financially sustainable results for improved lives and stronger communities. The LAC now includes more than 350 social-sector leaders hailing from nonprofits, philanthropy, business, and government who believe that organizational mission and performance are inextricably linked. The LAC has created informative materials that it makes available for free via its website and YouTube channel to support others to continuously improve their organizations to achieve greater impact. As the MI winds down its support for the LAC, an extensive process considered dozens of potential homes for the LAC and determined NCN to be the best fit to carry forward its mission.
“I can think of no better home for the Leap Ambassadors Community than the National Council of Nonprofits with its networks built on values of equity, trust, collaboration, and innovation,” said Mario Morino, Chairman of the Morino Institute and founder of the LAC. “Tim was one of our founding Ambassadors a decade ago and, over the years, he has demonstrated the synergies between our organizations. I feel good that the LAC has found its new home and know it has a bright future as part of NCN.”
“We’re excited to welcome the Leap Ambassadors to the networks of the National Council of Nonprofits,” said Tim Delaney, President & CEO of the National Council of Nonprofits. “I have seen first-hand the wisdom of this talented group of leaders who are all dedicated to improving our communities. The Ambassadors are not just thought leaders; they are people who believe in making an impact. Mario’s vision, drive, and generous spirit drew these people together and created a special community where none had existed. We look forward to this expansion of our networks of champions for the public good.”
NCN plans to engage in various ways with the LAC over the next several months to gather feedback on how to best support the community in 2024 and beyond.
