Allison Higgins joined the National Council of Nonprofits team in July 2016, and serves as Director of Network Engagement. In this role, she connects, strengthens, and builds trust between and among state association staff throughout the Council of Nonprofits’ nationwide network. Previously, Allison served Hawaii’s nonprofit network as the Director for Membership and Marketing at the Hawai`i Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations.
An Army spouse of more than 25 years, Allison has tirelessly advocated for military families while supporting her family and soldier through multiple moves and deployments and Army career.
Allison received her MPA from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa, and a BA in Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University. She is a recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Award (Gold); two Department of the Army Outstanding Civilian Service Awards; and Our Lady of Loreto Volunteer Award.
